Richard III: The Unseen Story
In February 2013, researchers declared that they had unearthed the skeleton of England’s most notorious and demonized monarch: Richard III.
The announcement was the culmination of 6 months of painstaking work, which constituted some of the most intensive archaeological and scientific analysis ever conducted to uncover and investigate a single individual skeleton. The project involved dozens of specialists in the fields of archaeology, osteology, history, forensic pathology, genealogy and DNA analysis.
This special follow-up programme – made by the only team with exclusive access to film the discovery – tells the complete archaeological and scientific story from the first cut in the ground to the final DNA analysis.
