Interior Design Masters

with Alan Carr

Alan Carr welcomes 10 novice interior designers - all with very different backgrounds and signature styles to compete in this 8-part whittle series which showcases the best of British design.  From the ‘Victorian Maximalist’ to the ‘Elegant Brutalist’ to the ‘Colourful Traditionalist’ they must completely redesign a vast range of commercial spaces across the UK over 8 weeks.

Either working alone or as a team they are given free rein on Ascot Racecourse hospitality boxes, OVO Arena Wembley dressing rooms, Chester Zoo activity centres, beachfront cafes, Grade II listed shops, rental apartments and they convert nun’s cells into B&Bs to raise money for charity.  In the grand finale the 2 finalists work their design magic on holiday lodges at the magnificent Blenheim Palace.   The prize for the winner is a collaboration contract with global  homeware brand La Redoute to produce their own line of home furnishings.

Each week head judge, Michelle Ogundehin decides which designer or which team has created her ‘Stand Out Space’ and which designers will be sent home.  She is joined by leading figures from the world of interior design including Abigail Ahern, Sophie Robinson and Mary Portas and making a special appearance, pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor helps Michelle decide who has nailed the dressing rooms at Wembley.
