As we witness the incredible journey of the robot Philae from spacecraft Rosetta as it attempts to land on a speeding comet, tune in to DSP’s fascinating documentary To Catch a Comet on PBS on Wednesday 19th November, for unique access to the project that is making this world-first event a reality.
DSP to follow Rosetta spacecraft as it lands on speeding comet
Our brand new project with NGCI, Rosetta: Comet Landing, will exclusively follow the spacecraft Rosetta as it chases, and lands, on a speeding comet, riding it towards the sun.
This one-hour special follows a team from the European Space Agency in one of the most complex and ambitious space missions ever undertaken. In a world first, the team will try and land Rosetta on to a comet travelling 600 million miles from earth. The mission aims to better understand the origin and evolution of our Solar System and to investigate the role that comets may have played in the beginnings of life on earth, and DSP will be there to watch it happen.
