DSP to follow Rosetta spacecraft as it lands on speeding comet

Our brand new project with NGCI, Rosetta: Comet Landing, will exclusively follow the spacecraft Rosetta as it chases, and lands, on a speeding comet, riding it towards the sun.

This one-hour special follows a team from the European Space Agency in one of the most complex and ambitious space missions ever undertaken. In a world first, the team will try and land Rosetta on to a comet travelling 600 million miles from earth. The mission aims to better understand the origin and evolution of our Solar System and to investigate the role that comets may have played in the beginnings of life on earth, and DSP will be there to watch it happen.

Broadcast date to follow.

We’re excited to announce the commission by National Geographic Channels International of DSP’s one-hour special, Hasselhoff vs. the Berlin Wall, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

David Hasselhoff has a unique link to the Wall, having been invited to perform in Berlin to a million-strong crown from a newly united east and west Germany, singing on the broken barrier on New Year’s Eve in 1989. Hasselhoff was there to witness history in the making. Our new film will take viewers on an incredible personal journey, back to Berlin, retracing the Wall’s history, meeting the people who lived in its long shadow – the unbelieveable escapes and divided lives – and examining the fate of the Wall’s final remnants.

Hasselhoff says: “Looking for freedom behind the Berlin Wall, I discovered so much more. I witnessed firsthand the horror and the pain the East Germans experienced throughout their unwavering fight for freedom.”

And Simon Young, Executive Producer for DSP says: “David didn’t just witness one of the 20th century’s most historic moments, his song ‘Looking For Freedom’ also provided the soundtrack. Through David’s journey and the powerful stories he uncovers, the startling human cost of the wall is laid bare. And it becomes clear why David’s song meant so much to so many.”

DSP’s film Hasselhoff vs. the Berlin Wall will air later this year. Updates to follow.
